Counter complaints erupt over land dispute clash in Manda
Naogaon Correspondent
Tensions have flared in Srirampur village under Ganeshpur Union of Manda Upazila following a violent clash and subsequent counter-allegations stemming from a long-standing land dispute.
According to local sources, the conflict involves Alhaj Makched Ali and a opposing group including Atiqur Rahman Mithu and Sohel Rana. Mokhed Ali stated that on Saturday morning, Mithu, Sohel Rana, and Azizar attempted to illegally occupy his purchased land (plots 612, 613, and 614). He alleged that when he and a companion, Kajal, resisted, they were physically assaulted and threatened.
Conversely, Sohel Rana claimed his father originally bought the land and alleged that Mokhed Ali's men attacked them while they were attempting to measure the property on Saturday. Meanwhile, Azizar—currently receiving treatment at Naogaon Sadar Hospital—alleged he was abducted and beaten for supporting Sohel during land arbitration.
Manda Police Station OC Khorshed Alam stated that no written complaints have been formally lodged by either side yet, but legal action will be taken following an investigation once complaints are received.
