Social Welfare Minister Professor Dr A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain reiterated the government's commitment to equal rights and communal harmony, emphasizing that every citizen shares equal ownership of the country regardless of religion or ethnicity.
The Minister made these remarks on Tuesday night while inspecting various Durga Puja mandaps in the Hili area under Hakimpur Upazila of Dinajpur district.
"This country, this soil belongs to everyone. None of us came from outside. Your blood is red, and my blood is red too. Your vote holds the same value as mine. Just as your rights are equal, my rights are equal as well," Professor Dr A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain stated while addressing attendees at the venue.
Highlighting the principle of rule of law, the Minister remarked that holding a cabinet post or parliamentary position does not place anyone above the law. He noted that while religious identities differ among Muslims, Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists, all individuals stand as equal citizens before the nation's legal framework.
He further observed that no religion endorses wrongdoing, urging citizens to unite against injustice.
