National Vitamin A Plus Campaign inaugurated in Mymensingh

The National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign was formally inaugurated at the Nagar Bhaban premises of Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) on Monday morning, aiming to ensure essential childhood nutrition and eliminate the risk of Vitamin A deficiency. Mymensingh City Corporation Administrator Md. Rokonuzzaman Rokon officially launched the drive by administering capsules to several children.
Briefing journalists after the inauguration, City Corporation Administrator Rokonuzzaman Rokon emphasized that Vitamin A capsules play a critical role in boosting children's immune systems, protecting eyesight, and preventing various complex nutritional deficiencies. He stressed that no child should be left out of the scope of this national health initiative. He strongly urged parents to bring all children aged 6 to 59 months to their nearest designated civic centers to receive the supplement.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Mymensingh City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Sumona Al Majid, Chief Health Officer Dr. H. K. Debnath, and other senior medical officers and health department staff.
The officials reiterated that the city corporation has deployed adequate manpower and established accessible centers across all wards to ensure a seamless and fully successful execution of the day-long campaign.
