Kite Festival held in Gafargaon

Colorful kites are flying across the blue sky in the clear, white sky. Teenagers, young men and middle-aged people are flying colorful kites of various sizes in the sky, racing with the wind. The competition is on to see who can fly their kites as high as possible. Everyone’s fight is reaching the sky.

This picture of the kite flying competition in the blue sky was seen on Tuesday afternoon (2nd Baishakh) in the wake of the Saltia Bridge built on the Brahmaputra River in the municipal area. In the evening, the ‘Kite Festival’ gathers and takes the form of a tense atmosphere. Because at that time, the time is limited until the Maghrib call to prayer. When the call to prayer is called, the kite whose kite is the highest will be the first.  So, people of all ages flew colorful kites of all kinds with the aim of touching the sky.

With the initiative and overall cooperation of Upazila Nirbahi Officer N.M. Abdullah Al-Mamun, this kite festival was organized by District Jubo Dal Joint Secretary Abdul Aziz Sadek.

The kite festival has captured the hearts of the audience. People of all ages have gathered to watch the spring kite festival.

Char Algi Union Chhatra Dal President Zakir Hossain, who participated in the kite festival, said, "I am very happy to be able to participate in the kite festival in a fascist-free environment after being freed from a life of running away."

Upazila Nirbahi Officer N.M. Abdullah Al-Mamun inaugurated the kite festival in the afternoon.

At the end of the kite festival, UNO N. M. Abdullah Al-Mamun handed over the prizes to the three winners at 7:30 pm.  Present at the time were former joint secretary of the municipal BNP Alamgir Kabir Sakter, former office secretary Azharul Haque, convener of the Gafargaon Press Club Robal Mahmud, journalist Farooqui and others.
