A housewife named Hazera Begum, has filed a rape case against her husband and father-in-law for obstructing her from having an extramarital affair.

The incident took place in Ghazibari, Ward No. 8, South Bhabanipur, Sadar Union, Indurkani Upazila, Pirojpur.

After various dramas throughout the day on Sunday, the case was registered under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act in the evening, confirmed Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Maruf Hossain. Whose case number is GR 14/25

According to local sources, Hridoy Gazi (21), son of Dulal Gazi of South Bhabanipur Ward of the upazila, developed a love relationship with Tamanna Akhtar (15), daughter of Ishaq Talukdar of the same village. The relationship was formed due to Hridoy working as a mason in Tamanna's house. At one stage of the relationship, the marriage was completed on 22/01/25 through the marriage registrar of Chandipur area and they later filed a court affidavit.

Since Tamanna and her family were greedy and her husband Hridoy Gazi was poor, Tamanna got into an extramarital affair with Morsalin, the son of a neighbor Bashir.

When the incident came to light, Tamanna and her family were found guilty through village arbitration and were given a strict warning to return from such activities. Tamanna and her mother Hajera Begum tried various tricks to divert the incident.

On Sunday (March 16) at around 12 noon, as per Hajera Begum's instructions, Montu and his followers called Hridoy and her father Dulal from their house, promising a compromise and making an immoral proposal. When they did not agree, Hridoy and his father Dulal were handed over to the police station on false charges and arrested under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. On Monday morning, the police station authorities sent the father and son to jail.

In protest of this incident, a human chain was formed on the road in front of Hridoy's house on Monday (March 17) at 11 am with the participation of people from all walks of life in the area.

At this time, they demanded the withdrawal of the false case and the immediate unconditional release of the father and son.
