District Jamaat-e-Islami has formed a human chain demanding the immediate opening of the 250-bed Sadar Hospital in Jhalakathi.
Leaders and activists of the district Jamaat and its affiliated organizations participated in the hour-long human chain on the road in front of the hospital on Saturday morning.
District Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Advocate Hafizur Rahman, Secretary Faridul Haque, Assistant Secretary Maulana Abdul Hai and other leaders of the organization spoke at the human chain.
The speakers said that although the construction of the hospital was completed a long time ago, the people of the district are being deprived of the desired healthcare as it has not yet been opened. They alleged that the hospital is not being opened due to the indifference of the public representatives and the concerned authorities.
