3-day Nazrul Year celebration ends in Pirojpur

A three-day celebration marking 'Nazrul Year' concluded in Pirojpur on Saturday with a discussion meeting, a cultural program, and a prize distribution ceremony.
Organized by the Pirojpur district administration, the closing event was held at 5:00 PM at the Shahid Omar Faruque Auditorium of the Upazila Parishad.
Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Said attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Special guests included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Alauddin Bhuiyan Jony, Sadar UNO Mamunur Rashid, Zila Parishad Administrator Principal Alamgir Hossain, and Rahima Khatun, a lecturer in the Bengali department at Government Suhrawardy College.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Abu Said emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in spreading the literary works, music, and deeply embedded humanitarian spirit of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam among the younger generation. He urged the youth to embrace Nazrul’s secular, egalitarian, and humane ideals to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
Later, the chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions organized to mark the Nazrul Year. The event concluded with a vibrant cultural segment featuring poetry recitations, dances, and musical performances that highlighted different facets of the national poet's life and philosophy.
Government officials, teachers, students, journalists, and citizens from various walks of life were present at the program.
