Stakeholders share opinions in dialogue on building national consensus

A stakeholder consultation titled Opinions of Stakeholders in the Process of Building National Consensus” was held in Rajshahi on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM  in the conference room of the Parjatan Motel in Rajshahi.

 It was organized by the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) and moderated by BEI President and former ambassador M. Humayun Kabir. Political leaders from the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP, and professionals from various sectors attended the dialogue.

Among the participants were Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, BNP Central Committee’s Secretary for Forest and Environment Affairs and former Mayor of Rajshahi; Dr. Jahangir Alam, Ameer of Rajshahi Metropolitan Jamaat-e-Islami; Mobassher Ali, Chief Coordinator of NCP Rajshahi Metropolitan Unit; Hafiz Mawlana Murshid Alam Faruqi, President of Islami Andolon’s Rajshahi District Unit; Golam Mostafa Mamun, General Secretary of Rajshahi Press Club; as well as representatives from Gono Adhikar Parishad, civil society, teachers, NGO workers, student representatives, and other professionals. The event was locally supported by Shahinaz Parvin, Executive Director of LOFS.

The consultation focused on several critical issues, including forming an all-party committee to establish a non-partisan caretaker government and  whether the party chief and the prime minister should be the same or separate individual.

All attendees actively participated in open discussions on these topics.
