Meetings were held with Zara, Lafarge Cement and German representatives. There was also a meeting with the CEO of DP World.The CEO of DP World has proposed to set up a free trade zone in Bangladesh. If this happens, trade and commerce will expand. We said it was new to us. We need to experience before making a free trade zone. For this, a delegation of Bangladesh will be sent soon.The representative of Lafaz Cement has highlighted some problems, we have said that we will try to address them. We told the German representatives what else we can do. They said more Germans should be brought to such summits. We have told them that if not on a large scale, small investment conferences can be held throughout the year. I'll try. The UK representatives have said that they will help us in the education and health sectors.In addition, BIDA signed an agreement with the ILO on Wednesday to improve the living standard of workers to attract FDI. Our labor standards are very low. We want to take it higher. So that labor rights are consolidated.Besides, an agreement has been signed with a Chinese textile company, they will invest $ 150 million in Bangladesh. It will create employment for about 15,000 people. Chinese investors also said that they will come back to Bangladesh with 200 investors soon.The BIDA executive chairman also said that this year's investment summit has made connections between politicians and foreign investors.Representatives of BNP, Jamaat and NCP also gave some gifts to the investors during their interactions. Investors have asked the political parties whether the policies announced by the present government will be okay if they come to power.The BIDA executive chairman also said that most of the investors in the summit showed interest to invest in trek-style, garment, renewable energy and light engineering sectors.
