Rally, meeting on Land Fair in Goalando

"Pay regular land development tax, protect your land" - with this theme, the Land Fair 2025 has begun in Goalando, like the rest of the country.
On Sunday (May 25) at 10 am, a colourful rally started from in front of the Upazila Land Office, circled the main road and ended at the Upazila premises. After that, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad meeting room.
The discussion meeting was chaired by UNO Md. Nahidur Rahman, and was attended by Upazila ICT Officer Md. Nizam Uddin, Upazila Palli Sanchay Bank Manager Gautam Kumar Sarkar, Upazila Administrative Officer Md. Moniruzzaman, Upazila Land Surveyor Md. Saiful Islam, Upazila Jute Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman, land officers of four upazila unions, local beneficiaries, and others.
In his speech at the discussion meeting, the UNO said, "To get land services, call 16122 and apply online yourself to get all the information. If anyone demands money in the office, inform me directly and receive a receipt for the money you pay. Also, do not contact the officials through any brokers, but directly. If you do not resort to brokers, the brokers will stop coming to the office."
He further said that the fair will provide a comprehensive idea about the initiatives of the Ministry of Land in providing people-friendly land services, the achievements of service recipients, the future land management action plan, etc., as well as the e-nomination application process, online payment of land development tax, and the acceptance of all these fees completely online. In addition, awareness will be raised among service seekers about receiving land services-mouza maps by post, online DCR, online receipts, reporting complaints about land services, or knowing any issue related to land services.
It is mentioned that this three-day land fair will run from May 25 to May 27. In addition, a stall has been set up in the premises of the Upazila Land Office to assist service seekers. Various types of awareness placards, banners, and posters have been put up at the service provision site.
