A one-time payment of Tk 17,000 was given to 15 members after completing a 4-day training among the poorest families of Phulbari Union through the Mahidev Jubo Samaj Kalyan Samity in Phulbari on Tuesday.
Present at the financial assistance distribution ceremony at the Upazila Executive Officer's office were Phulbari UNO Rehenuma Tarannum, Upazila Youth Development Officer Lalit Mohan Roy, Administrative Officer of Phulbari Union Parishad Rabiul Alam, Reserved Women Member Anjuara Begum, President of Phulbari Youth Human Service Organization Sanjida Akhter Sathi, General Secretary Nasrul Haque Nazmul, Field Facilitators of Mohideb Youth Social Welfare Association Afroza Happy and Ranjit Kumar Roy, and many others.
Afroza Happy, field facilitator of the Phulbari Union of the Mahidev Youth Welfare Association, said that this one-time money is provided to families of teenage girls at risk of child marriage and to make women financially self-reliant.
