
Jamaat marches and presents memorandum in Joypurhat demanding implementation of 5-point plan

A memorandum has been submitted to the District Commissioner on behalf of Joypurhat District Jamaat-e-Islami demanding the implementation of the 5-point demands announced in light of the July National Charter.
On Sunday at 3 pm, a large number of leaders and activists from different upazilas took out a procession from the city's Abul Kashem Maidan, paraded the city's main roads, and then went to the Deputy Commissioner's office to submit a memorandum.
Earlier, Jamaat-nominated MP candidate for Joypurhat-1 constituency and district Jamaat Ameer Fazlur Rahman Sayeed addressed a brief rally at the city's Abul Kashem Maidan.
District Jamaat Secretary Golam Kibria, Assistant Secretary Hasibul Alam Liton, Advocate Mamunur Rashid, MP candidate from Joypurhat-2 constituency SM Rashedul Alam Sabuj, among others.
Also present at the time were Jamaat leaders
Advocate Aslam Hossain, District Office Secretary Maulana Anwar Hossain, Sadar Upazila Ameer Maulana Imran Hossain, Maulana Sujaul Karim, Maulana Munsur Rahman, Maulana Shafiul Hasan Dipu and Maulana Aminul Islam, among other leaders.
In a brief rally, District Ameer Fazlur Rahman Said said that the national elections will not be acceptable without the implementation of the 5-point demands announced on the basis of the July Charter. According to the government's announcement, the implementation order of the July National Charter will have to be issued before the national elections to be held in February and a referendum will have to be organized on it. There is no alternative to implementing the 5-point demands to ensure public trust and participation. If this demand is ignored, the common people of the country will take to the streets and intensify the movement.
