Speaking as the chief guest at the tri-annual conference of Ishwardi Upazila Awami League, Awami League presidium member and former MP Abdur Rahman said elections would be held in accordance with the country's constitution in the future. Rezaur Rahim Lal, acting president of Pabna district Awami League and chairman of Pabna district council, inaugurated the three-year conference of Ishwardi Upazila Awami League on Wednesday at 12:15 pm at the local Alhaj Textile Mills High School ground. After inaugurating the conference at 12:15 pm, the first session of the tri-annual conference of Ishwardi Upazila Awami League was concluded with a speech by the leaders for forty minutes. After that, discussions and voting were started in the second session with the central, district and level leaders and councilors in the BSRI auditorium to form the committee of Ishwardi Upazila Awami League at 3 pm.

Naib Ali Biswas (bullock cart) won with 162 votes and Abul Kalam Azad Mintu (fish) won the post of general secretary with 16 votes. Ishaq Ali Malitha (horse) got 112 votes and Shakibur Rahman Kanak (bicycle) got 125 votes.
