Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud inspected the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) puja mandap in Farmgate, Dhaka, on Monday  to directly review security arrangements for the ongoing Sharadiya Durga Puja.

During the visit, the Director General exchanged festive greetings with organizers and attendees, presenting them with gift items. The Puja Celebration Committee welcomed him with a ceremonial shawl (uttoriyo). Major General Sazzad Mahmud evaluated the overall security status, the performance of deployed Ansar-VDP personnel, and coordinated security measures with local event management.

Speaking at the venue, the Director General highlighted that Ansar-VDP members are actively ensuring safety across worship venues. He noted that potential disruptions are being resolved promptly in close coordination with Puja celebration committees and law enforcement agencies. He added that the widespread installation of CCTV cameras alongside real-time monitoring via the 'Sharadiya Suraksha App' has enhanced overall security operations.

The Director General emphasized that privately organized family mandaps have also been brought under the force's dedicated monitoring teams to maintain comprehensive security across all levels.

He instructed all deployed personnel to maintain professionalism, discipline, and cordial behavior. Reaffirming that no attempts to disrupt communal harmony through rumors or provocation will be tolerated, he stressed swift legal action against any untoward incidents.

Beside maintaining security, Ansar-VDP personnel are engaged in humanitarian assistance at puja venues, including reuniting lost children with families, assisting elderly visitors, managing crowds, preventing harassment, and tracking suspicious movements to neutralize potential security risks.
