Demand to establish China Friendship Hospital in Gaibandha, not Rangpur

China-Bangladesh 1000-bed Friendship Hospital has been demanded in Gaibandha instead of Rangpur in a rally at Balua Bazar on Thursday.
A huge human chain and rally was held at Balua Bazar of Ramchandrapur Union of the upazila by the students and public.
Hundreds of students from various educational institutions of that union and the surrounding unions, common people, leaders and activists of political parties and various organizations participated in the three-kilometer human chain in Balua Bazar area of Nakaihat Road.

Gaibandha Press Club General Secretary Idrisuzzaman Mona spoke in solidarity at the rally.
The speakers said, Ramchandrapur Hospital, established on 31 bighas of land, is lying idle. Despite having facilities here, the
hospital is not being made operational for unknown reasons. The people of the area are willing to donate more land if
necessary to establish the China Friendship Hospital. If the 1000-bed Chinese hospital is established in this place, the people of
the entire Rangpur division will benefit. The speakers demanded that the initiative be taken to establish the Balua Hospital in
Ramchandrapur, Gaibandha instead of Rangpur.
