BNP leaders allegedly block road due to non-payment of Tk 50 lakh extortion

Some leaders of BNP have been allegedly demanding extortion of Tk 50 lakh from the owner of Balu Ghat in Tangail's Bhuyapur and for not paying this amount , they blocked the road by throwing sand.
The incident happened in Surpalsia area of the upazila. Due to this, common people and students traveling on that road have to suffer.
It is learnt in Sarzmin that after the fall of the government on August 5, the leaders and workers of the Union BNP were trying to occupy the Balur Ghat of Masudul Haque Masud, the former chairman of Nikrail Union supported by the Awami League of the upazila. But not completely successful. However, this time, allegations of Tk 50 lakh extortion have been made against Upazila BNP Treasurer Solaiman Hossain Liton, Nikrail Union BNP President Advocate Saiful Islam, General Secretary Jahangir Hossain Mondal and some leaders of BNP, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal. Masudul Haq Masud's wife Shefali Masud made a written complaint to the army, UNO office, land office and police station.
Meanwhile, the locals complained that BNP leader Solaiman Hossain Liton and his associates blocked the road by dumping 5 trucks of sand without getting the subscription money. Due to this, the movement of the people has caused extreme suffering.
Regarding the complaint, BNP leader Solaiman Hossain Liton admitted the fact.
Rashedul Islam Dilip, Chairman of Nikrail Union Parishad, said that sand removal is in progress.
Bhuyapur police station OC AK M Rezaul Karim asked about the complaint, he said, it is not my responsibility. However, if the upazila administration wants, I will help.
UNO Mahbub Hasan said, necessary steps will be taken in this regard after looking at the ground.
Meanwhile, District BNP General Secretary Adv Farhad Iqbal said, strict action will be taken if the allegations against them are found to be true, action will be taken.
