No other country has communal harmony like Bangladesh : Home Adviser

Home Affairs Advisor Lt. General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has stated that some foreign media outlets are spreading false news about Bangladesh with the intention of making money. To counter this misinformation, he emphasized the need for local media to publish truthful and objective news. If our media reports the facts, it will expose the lies being spread by those foreign outlets, he said.He made these remarks on Saturday (April 5) during a visit to various bathing sites at the Maha Ashtami Holy Dip Festival of the Sanatan (Hindu) community in Langalbandh, located in the Bandar upazila of Narayanganj.During his visit, the Home Affairs Advisor also said, There is no other country in the world that enjoys the kind of religious and communal harmony that Bangladesh does.He further mentioned that discussions have already taken place with the concerned ministries to develop the Langalbandh pilgrimage area into a religious tourism city, and work on this project will begin very soon.Speaking about this year’s event, Lt. General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, Compared to previous years, the river water was better this time. We must ensure it remains clean year-round. There were significantly more pilgrims this time, and we’ve taken all necessary security and service measures to support them.He stressed that people of all religions Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian are united. We are all Bangladeshis first. That’s what brings us together here today.The Home Affairs Advisor concluded by urging everyone to maintain the spirit of religious and communal harmony in the region.Among those present during the visit were Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, District Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar Majumdar, Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Convenor Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan, and members of the Bathing Festival Advisory Committee, including Shikhan Sarkar Shipon, Shankar Saha, and Joy K. Roy Chowdhury Bappy, along with various other leaders and activists.
