6 hurt in land related incident in Tongibari

Six people have been injured in a beating-related incident in Tongibari, Munshiganj on Friday.
The injured are Shahin Sheikh, Habil Mollah, Kayes Sheikh, Firuz Alam, Rakib Sheikh and Russell Dhali. The injured were treated at the Tongibari Health Complex.
It is reported that in Mandra village of Tongibari upazila, Haji Barek Sheikh, son of the deceased Haji Hakim Ali Sheikh, and Akram Dhali, son of the deceased Harun Rashid Dhali of the same area, are having a dispute over land.
On Friday (May 16) morning, a meeting was held to resolve the dispute through arbitration. While the umpires were discussing the matter at 12 noon, Akram Dhali's elder brother Shahid Dhali led an ambush as planned and injured them in various parts of the body, including the legs. At that time, Shahin Sheikh's left leg was broken. The injured Kayes was sent to Dhaka Medical Hospital after being hit below the eye.
