Youth shot dead in Jaintapur Minatila border

A young man was shot dead by a gunman while trying to bring betel nuts to India in the Minatila area of Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet.
According to local sources, a young man was seriously injured in a gunshot wound while trying to bring betel nuts from an Indian betel nut plantation on Thursday.
He died on the way to Bangladesh after being shot. The deceased youth is Maruf Ahmed (20), son of Sahab Uddin alias Talu Sulayl Sahab Uddin of Kendri Jhingabari village of Jaintapur Union No. 2 of Jaintapur Upazila.
48 BGB commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Hafizur Rahman PSC. confirmed the news and said, the matter is being investigated.
