Weak slabs of drains in Cumilla city causing frequent accidents

Weak slabs placed across drains in different areas of Cumilla city are at high risk.
Cars stuck in the breaking the slabs in the area almost time . Pedestrians are getting injured after falling on a broken slab somewhere. The city dwellers demanded to remove the weak slabs quickly and install better quality slabs there. Such scenes are seen in different areas of the city including Dakshin chartha, Mogaltuli, Chawkbazar, Racecourse and Kandirpar.
More delicate on the road connecting Cumilla Government Women's College Road to EPZ Road. There is a drain in the middle of this road in South Chartha. There are slabs on the drain. They are broken into different parts.
In addition, some of the slabs above the roadside drain in the area of the big mosque area in front of the city's fire service pond are broken.
South Chartha area residents Nargis Akter Tip said it was less than a year since the South Chartha road was renovated. There is a drain in the middle of this road. Many of the slabs above the drain are broken. Various transports are stuck there.
Rickshaws, motorbikes, and private cars do not move in the middle of the road for fear, they move on one side of the road for fear of breaking down. These need to be reformed quickly.
Polin Mustafiz, another resident of the area, said it was an important road in the city. Broken road slabs need to be replaced quickly. Otherwise big accidents can happen.
Badrul Huda Genu, president of the Aware Citizens Committee Cumilla said, local councilors needed more supervision to repair weak slabs of drains, broken parts of roads. In this way, the city corporation will focus on quick repairs and reduce the suffering of the people.
He added that the local councilor can take the help of social welfare organizations in the area regarding the suffering of the citizens of the ward.
Cumilla City Corporation's supervising engineer Sheikh Mohammad Nurullah said, "We will find out about the broken and weak slabs on the drain." I will start quick reforms in all those places.
