A special check post operation by the joint forces has been conducted in Char Fassion Bhola to ensure road safety and smooth movement of people.
The operation was conducted at the BRDB intersection of the Upazila Sadar from 10 am to 12 noon on Wednesday. Members of the Navy and Traffic Police participated in it.
During the operation, a youth named Md. Kamrul Hasan Munna was arrested with 7 pieces of narcotic Yaba tablets at around 11:30 am. The arrested youth is the son of the deceased Anwar Hossain of Ward No. 4 of Char Fashion Municipality. A wallet and a motorcycle were also seized from him at that time.
Char Fashion Police Station OC Md. Mizanur Rahman Howlader confirmed the arrest and said that a case has been filed against the arrested youth under the Narcotics Control Act and he has been sent to the district jail through the court.
He further said that such campaigns will be conducted regularly for road safety and public interest. Along with strengthening anti-drug activities, the main objective of this campaign is road transport discipline and safety of the common people.
