A team of RAB-11 has arrested the controversial up member Rashid in Fatulla of Narayanganj Sadar Upazila. The news of the arrest of Rashid member has caused joy among the local people.

There are 16 cases against him, including extortion, murder and student murder cases in the anti-discrimination student movement. On Monday (October 21) afternoon, member Rashid was arrested in a joint operation by RAB-11 and RAB-7 at Faujdarhat Bypass Junction of Chittagong Police Station.

After handing him over to the Fatulla Thana Police, the Fatulla Thana Police sent him to the court asking for a 7-day remand in the student-crowd killing case on Tuesday.

Arrested member Rashid is a member of Baktabali up Ward No. 1 of the resident of East Gopalnagar area. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatulla Model Police Station Shariful Islam confirmed the fact of Rashid member's arrest and said that Rashid member was arrested by RAB and handed over to our police station. There is a case against Rashid member. A case was sent to the court seeking 7 days remand.

Meanwhile, after the fall of the Hasina government on August 5, Rashid became an ordinary member and claimed himself as the leader of BNP with a huge terrorist force, starting from occupation and extortion in the area. Besides, there are various misdemeanor charges against him including robbery.

After the fall of Hasina government, Shaukat Ali seized the chairman's business establishment, Saifullah Badal market, Saidur's fish farm, Baktavali ferry ghat and the houses of Awami League leaders and activists in East Gopalnagar area were looted and looted. Many people closed their shops. Baktavali also established a reign of terror with extortion from the brick kiln owners.

Night guard killed due to negligence of police : Garage owner in 7- day remand in N’ganj

RAB-11 has arrested garage owner Akhtar Hossain (50), the main accused in the case of murder of night guard Sirajul Islam (65) in Jaharpur area of Bandar Upazila of Narayanganj district due to negligence of police duty of Kamtal investigation center in case of auto theft.

He was arrested from his home in Haribari Jaharpur last Monday night. Later that night RAB-11 took the arrested to Bandar police station. Yesterday Tuesday (22 October) the arrested accused Akhtar was handed over to the court asking for a 7-day police remand.

An organized group of thieves committed the auto theft last Thursday night. The garage owner Akhter and his men tortured the night guard Sirajul Islam from Friday morning. He died on Saturday night. The police recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to the morgue on Sunday morning. The victim's daughter Shilpa Akhtar became the plaintiff and filed a case with the Bandar police station naming the garage owner Akhtar Hossain as the main accused.

The arrested garage owner Akhter, son of Ali Akbar Mia of Muchhapur Haribari Jaharpur area. Bandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Tariqul Islam confirmed the arrest of Garage owner Akhter Hossain. He said, the arrested accused has been sent to the court on Tuesday morning seeking 7-day police remand.

Special cleanliness drive launched to control dengue in Araihajar

A special cleanliness campaign has been started to control dengue in Araihajar upazila of Narayanganj district. Yesterday Tuesday at 11 am Assistant Commissioner (land) Shahnaz Parveen Beethi launched this program around Upazila Parishad.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Mahmudul Hasan Faruqi, Poverty Alleviation Officer Samsunnahar Akand, Additional Agriculture Officer Sharmin Ara Khandkar, Project Implementation Officer Anisur Rahman, Araihajar Thana Press Club President Masum Billah and others were present.
