Two killed, 10 injured in bus-truck head-on collision in Rajbari

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a cargo truck on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway. 10 people were also injured in this incident.
The accident took place in front of Rajbari Technical Training Center in Ahladipur area of Rajbari Sadar on Friday (August 2) around 8 am.
The deceased are BM Nazim Uddin (50), a social worker of the Rajbari city social service office and a resident of Majlishpur village of Basantpur union of Sadar upazila, and Shakib (20), a truck helper.
One of the injured is undergoing treatment at Rajbari Sadar Hospital, one has been referred to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in critical condition and the rest have received first aid.
Eyewitnesses said that when a local bus carrying passengers from Kushtia to Faridpur reached in front of Rajbari Technical Training Center, it collided head-on with a cement-laden truck coming from the opposite direction. The front part of the bus and truck was twisted. The bus driver was killed on the spot. At least 10 people including the truck driver, helper and bus passenger were injured. Later the locals rescued the injured and sent them to Rajbari Sadar Hospital.
