Three women get mementos on Begum Rokeya Day in Gafargaon

On the occasion of International Women's Day and Begum Rokeya Day, organized by the Gafargaon Upazila Administration and Upazila Women's Affairs Officer's Office, three rural women were presented with mementos on Monday (December 9) afternoon.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rubaiya Yasmin presented mementos to the winners as the president of the program at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom. In her speech, she highlighted the contribution of women in various fields.
The recipients of the mementos in the three categories are - Aklima Akhter, a woman who achieved economic success, Rina Khatun, a successful mother, and Naima Akhter Mitu, who started life with new enthusiasm after eradicating the horror of torture.
Before presenting the mementos, Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Khaleda Akhter delivered a welcome speech at a discussion meeting on the occasion of International Women's Day and Begum Rokeya Day, and the entire program was moderated by Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Khaleda Akhter.
Among others, Upazila Agriculture Officer Shakura Namni, Cooperative Officer Utpal Kumar Roy and Joyita Award-winning women spoke.
Before the discussion meeting, a colorful rally was taken out under the leadership of Upazila Executive Officer Rubaiya Yasmin to mark the day. Officers and employees of various government departments, NGO workers and self-reliant women were present in it.
