Synovia Pharma seeks govt intervention against alleged attack on its premises by former employees

Staff Correspondent

The authorities of Synovia Pharma PLC have sought government intervention to take action against former employees following incidents of illegal entry into the office, occupation, physical assault on current staff, and intimidation.

The company has requested the intervention of the Home Affairs Adviser and law enforcement agencies to address the situation.

This demand was made on Monday evening during a press conference held at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital.

During the press conference, it was informed that on October 21, army men present at the Synovia premises requested the former employees, who were illegally occupying the office grounds, to vacate the premises.

At that time, the former employees physically assaulted the current employees. Eventually, the incumbent employees, in fear, sought help from the military personnel. In this situation, the illegal occupants also engaged in heated arguments and aggressive behavior with the army men.

Later, the military personnel were able to remove them from the main entrance gate. However, immediately after the military personnel left the premises, the former employees became more aggressive, broke the lock on the main gate, and reoccupied the office.

They physically assaulted the security guards and office assistants present inside. In light of this unfortunate incident, Synovia authorities are taking the necessary legal actions.

The written statement at the press conference was delivered by Moin Uddin Majumder, Chief Operating Officer of Synovia Pharma.

Syed Masudul Hasan, Head of HR at Sinovia, Syed A.B. Tahmid, Marketing Director, Golam Rabbani Akand, CFO, and Renesa Ahmed, Director of Business Operation and Support, were also present.

Moin Uddin Majumder said, "Under the current circumstances, we appeal to the honourable adviser of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the law enforcement agencies through our media colleagues to address this injustice and illegal activities and ensure appropriate justice."
