Sheikh Kamal’s 72nd birth anniversary observed in Washington

Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC has paid homage to valiant freedom fighter Captain Sheikh Kamal on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
The 72nd birth anniversary of Sheikh Kamal was observed with due solemnity through holding of discussion and screening documentary at the mission on August 5, a foreign ministry press release said here today.
Captain Sheikh Kamal has been assassinated along with Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most members of his family on the brutal night of Aug 15 in 1975.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA M Shahidul Islam took part at the discussion while consular Habibur Rahman read out brief biography of Captain Sheikh Kamal.
Later, a special prayer was offered seeking eternal peace of departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib and others those assassinated on the black night of August 15 in 1975.
