On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, all offices and academic activities of the University of Dhaka will remain closed from June 4 to June 14, 2025. During this period, special security measures have been taken to ensure maximum security on the university campus.
As per the decision of a joint meeting between the university authorities and representatives of the National Security Intelligence (NSI) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), two armed police personnel will be deployed at each entry point of the university (Shahbagh, Nilkhet, Palashi, Doel Chattar, Udayan, and Officer’s Tower) along with the Proctorial Mobile Security Team.
Additionally, campus patrolling activities will be intensified with the assistance of the army. A request has been made to the Military Operations Directorate of the Army Headquarters to take necessary measures in this regard.
It is mentioned that in a recent meeting of the Provost Standing Committee of the University of Dhaka, emphasis was placed on ensuring the security of various residential halls. For security reasons, the pocket gate adjacent to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall will remain closed until June 14.
With the cooperation of all relevant forces, the University of Dhaka administration hopes that the campus will remain peaceful and safe during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
