The agitating students of Rajshahi University staged a peaceful mass march and submitted a memorandum with a one-sided demand to abolish unreasonable and discriminatory quotas in all grades of government jobs and reform the quota system. The agitating students expressed their satisfaction by presenting memorandum to Rajshahi DC Shamim Ahmed and meeting and talking to them.

After crossing about 9 kilometers on foot, the senior police officers on duty stopped the protesting students and asked some of them to go to hand over the memorandum.

The march started from the central library of the university at 11 am on Sunday morning and gathered in front of Rajshahi DC's office from Talaimari intersection of the city. During this time, they made the March with different slogans. A delegation of 18 of the protesting students went to Rajshahi DC Shamim Ahmed's meeting room. During this time, the delegation of the DC arranged a place for the students to sit in a beautiful environment.

After a while, DC Shamim Ahmed came to the meeting room and spoke to the students and after receiving the written memorandum , he assured to send it to the office of the President in due process.

At that time, the students claimed that many students have come on foot with difficulty, if you say these words in front of them, they will be reassured and their peaceful movement will be more orderly. The Deputy Commissioner kept their word and spoke in front of the main gate and they cheered and chanted when he told them that the memorandum would be sent to the President today. The Deputy Commissioner also called upon the protesting students to refrain from any activities that may cause damage to life and property so that the agitation does not turn into chaos.
