Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that RMP has been serving the people of Rajshahi city with efficiency, honesty and dedication for 32 years since its establishment. RMP has gained people's trust and love for controlling the law and order situation.

He said these in the chief guest's speech at the discussion meeting on the occasion of the 32nd founding anniversary of RMP at the drill shed of Rajshahi Police Lines on Tuesday noon.

Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said, at one time this region became a hotbed of militancy. Members of the RMP embody the spirit of the Liberation War and eradicate militancy by performing their duties with unparalleled bravery and professionalism.

IGP said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced zero tolerance against militancy and terrorism.

The government has been able to effectively control militancy and terrorist activities in this city as well as the entire Bangladesh through efficient policing system. The struggle against militancy, terrorism and subversion has not been an easy road.

Many policemen did not hesitate to risk their lives. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has adopted the plan to build a smart Bangladesh, Bangladesh Police is working towards that goal. Every member of RMP is working to maintain the peace of the city by eradicating crime in the region by coordinating technology in various steps including setting up cyber crime control, operation control and monitoring center and digital forensic lab, preparation of digital database of juvenile gangs.

Beat policing, community policing , Hello RMP Apps, they are delivering multifaceted policing services to the doorsteps of the city dwellers including the installation of cameras in different parts of the city. Bangladesh Police is determined to build Sonar Bangla as envisioned by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The father of the nation dreamed that the police would be humane and people-friendly. His daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina introduced the same policing system. Every policeman is performing his duty as a humane and people-friendly policeman. Bangladesh Police is working in the light of the policing system that the government has given to build a developed, prosperous and smart Bangladesh.

Recalling the role of the police in the great liberation war, the IGP said that a group of policemen jumped into the freedom struggle of the country at the call of Bangabandhu. No bond could stop them. By fighting with infinite courage, they snatched away the red sun of freedom.

At this time, he called for trust in the police in any critical moment and expressed firm belief in achieving the vision in 2041.

RMP Commissioner Biplab Bijay Talukder presided over the event, Principal of Bangladesh Police Academy Additional IGP Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan, former Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University Professor Dr. Abdul Khalek, Rajshahi Range DIG Md Anisur Rahman, Rajshahi College Principal Professor Abdul Khalek, Superintendent of Police Md. Saifur Rahman, Zilla Parishad Chairman Mir Iqbal and Awami League President Mohammad Ali Kamal spoke. Among others, officers and employees of government and private departments, brave freedom fighters, journalists of print and electronic media were present.

Earlier in the morning, the IGP inaugurated the 32nd foundation anniversary by blowing balloons and festoons in the RMP office premises.

Later, after a colourful rally, IGP planted Dulichampa tree in the premises of RMP.
