Mahbubur Rahman,  Rajarhat Upazila Correspondent  of Naya Diganta, has  received  death threats after a mobile court seized TCB products in Rajarhat, Kurigram. 

The victim journalist has filed a complaint with the police station regarding this incident.

 
It is learned that TCB products are supplied to beneficiaries at a low price once a month in the Bidyananda Union Parishad premises of the upazila.

 Ignoring the rules and regulations, local wholesaler Abdul Hamid and his son Firoz Mia (Foni) purchased those products from beneficiaries in the Union Parishad premises.

 On June 28, journalist Mahbubur Rahman went there to collect information during the sale of TCB products. 

At one stage, when he tried to take pictures of the sale of TCB products on his mobile phone, Abdul Hamid and his son Firoz Mia (Foni) stopped him.  The next day, on the night of June 29, after learning about the storage of goods in the personal warehouse of wholesaler Hamid adjacent to Bidyananda Union Parishad after purchasing TCB products, Executive Magistrate and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Asadul Haque conducted a raid. 

That time,  he ordered the seizure of 25 bags of rice, 28 liters of soybean oil, 30 sugar and 60 kg of pulses and deposit them in the government treasury. In addition, Abdul Hamid was fined Tk 3,000 in a mobile court.

Since this incident, Abdul Hamid and Firoz Mia have been threatening journalist Mahbubar Rahman in various ways. In view of this, journalist Mahbubar Rahman filed a complaint with Rajarhat Police Station on Wednesday night against Hamid and his son Firoz Mia, along with three others.

Rajarhat Police Station OC Taslim Uddin confirmed the receipt of the complaint and said that legal action will be taken after investigation.
