Global Handwashing Day was celebrated in Mymensingh with the theme "Be the Hero of Handwashing".
On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally was jointly organized by the Divisional Commissioner's Office, District Administration and Public Health Engineering Department of Mymensingh on Wednesday morning from the Divisional Commissioner's Office and ended at the Deputy Commissioner's Office.
Later, students of the school branch of the Collectorate School and College in the Police Line area were taught the method of handwashing. Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner Md. Mukhtar Ahmed inaugurated the rally as the chief guest at the event presided over by Superintendent Engineer Md. Abdul Awal of the Public Health Engineering Department, Mymensingh Circle. Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Mufidul Alam addressed the discussion meeting as the special guest at the event. In his speech as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner said, cleanliness is a part of faith. Hands are often a means of transferring germs between people. The importance of washing our hands is essential. The special guest was Dr. Mohammad Chaiful Islam Khan, Civil Surgeon of Mymensingh, moderated by Mohammad Chamiul Haque, Executive Engineer of the Public Health Department, Mymensingh.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Reza Md. Golam Masum Pradhan, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Ariful Islam Prince, Headmaster of the School Branch of the Collectorate School and College Md. Abdul Malek, Assistant Engineer Subrata Basak, Pre-Kindergarten Md.
