RAJUK reinforces construction rules for JU areas
JU Correspondent
Rajdhani Unnayan Kartyapakkha (RAJUK) has issued a directive reiterating that all construction activities within the Jahangirnagar University area must comply with the approved master plan and existing building regulations.
According to the notice, any form of construction within the authority’s jurisdiction requires prior approval under The Building Construction Act, 1952, and must be conducted in accordance with the university's designated master plan.
RAJUK warned that modifying the classification or reducing the size of parks, playgrounds, open spaces, or water bodies — as outlined in the master plan — would constitute a violation of The Natural Water Conservation Act, 2000.
The directive further stated that constructions in the area must follow the provisions of the Dhaka Metropolitan Building Construction, Development, Preservation and Removal Rules, 2008.
