Preliminary round of ILPE held in Rangpur

Preliminary round of the International Leadership Program on Education-2024 [ILPE] was held in the districts of Rangpur division on Friday as part of the nationwide program. Global Innovation and Leadership Centre [GILC] in association with GEIST International Foundation organized the event. This year's theme is "Embracing the rhythms of language & culture for global citizenship & leadership" Around 2000 students of grade 3-12 from different educational institutes in seven districts under the division took part the Olympiad
International Leadership Program on Education is one of the flagship events of GILC & GEIST. The program is to engage the young learners in a competitive test to disinter their latent talent, improve their problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership skills and become an effective and knowledgeable human being improving English language proficiency.
The total number of students is categorized into four categories. Each of the levels of students has to go through two rounds with different objectives to reach the national level competition scheduled to be held on May 31 at United International University. Top 12 students from each category selected from National level will get scholarship and an opportunity to join in an international round at Geomatika University in Kuala Lumpur- Malaysia this year.
Jerin Tasnim Arnika, an eighth grader of Robertsongonj High School & College, Rangpur and a participant at Police Lines School and College venue of the city said, it’s an amazing program. ILPE’s competitive modules are very exciting and tricky, I want to showcase my skills at national and international level, she added.
Abdul Mottalab, deputy divisional coordinator of the event who is also a senior teacher in English at Police Lines School and College said, “ILPE helps to equip the young learners with the skills and knowledge and to become an international citizen.”
It is noted that around 10 thousand students from 46 districts of the country have participated in the preliminary round of the year.
