Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the government is working for the development of Bangladesh Railways.

The Prime Minister said that 650 -km new railways have been constructed in the country in the last fourteen years.

She said these in the speech of chief guest at the opening ceremony of three railways connected virtually from Ganobhaban on Thursday.

Referring to the various developments going on in the country, he said, the railway line was destroyed during the BNP- Jamaat period, and the Awami League government restored it and made the railway profitable.

Those who once opposed it proposed again to build the railway bridge. So we are building a new railway bridge over the river Jamuna.

The work of Bangabandhu Rail Bridge is progressing. We are opening all the rail links which were closed during the 1965 Indo-Pak war with India one by one.

During the inauguration of 26 -km rail link from Ishwardi by-pass take-off point to Ruppur Nuclear Power Station from Ganobhaban end virtually to establish a healthy transport system for Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant and to increase the revenue of railways.

Railway Minister Adv Nuirul Islam Sujan gave a virtual speech with Railway Secretary Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir in the chair.

Acting High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Dr. Binoy Judge. Western Railway GM Asim Kumar Talukder, Chief Engineer Asadul Haque and Pakshi Divisional Railway Manager Sah Sufi Noor Mohammad attended the Ishwardi end and spoke about the inaugurated project.

On this occasion MP of Pabna-4 Constituency Bir Muktijodha Nuruzzaman Biswas, MP of Reserved women's constituency Nadira Yasmin Jolly, Chairman of Pabna Zilla Parishad, Abdur Rahim Pakon, Pabna District Commissioner Biswas Russell, Pakshi Railway District Superintendent of Police Sahabuddin, Pabna Superintendent of Police Akbar Ali Munshi, Aizal Hossain and Imran Hossain on behalf of the contractor organization, Rajshahi Divisional Secretary of National Journalist Society and Ishradi Upazila Press Club President Tauhid Akhter Panna, Ishradi Upazila Press Club General Secretary AA Azad Hannan and other high-ranking officials were present.

Computer Based Intercalated (CBI) signaling has been installed at Ruppur station and Ishwardi station for 25.956 km track for 11.345 km route at a cost of Tk 335 crore 67 lakh 38 thousand .

Through this inauguration, an environment has been created for the transportation of goods of EPZ and other organizations in Ruppur nuclear power plant. By doing this, if everything is operated properly in the future, the railway authorities will be able to earn a lot of revenue. This project is implemented in a joint venture of GPT-SEL-CCC with the funding of the Government of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, a different kind of joy was evident among the general public in the area as the senior officials of the Western Railway and Pakshi Divisional Railway made extensive preparations for the last one week around this inauguration ceremony.
