In various areas of Koyra Upazila of Khulna district, people life have been affected by the infestation of an Seminlooper larva insect.

These insects have appeared in various localities including Deyara, Jaipur, Shimlerite, Choukuni, especially in Gewa trees. Residents are fed up due to insects. Various trees including dead trees are being destroyed by weeds. Entering people's homes and ruining people's peace. But no one can say where this insect originated from.

Talking to the local residents, it is known that a few days ago this insect was seen in the Gewa tree of the area. However, the people of the area did not pay attention to it because it was not seen much before. But recently, the spread of this insect has taken a huge form.

As a result, these insects are seen in people's houses and clothes. This insect is causing extensive damage to trees, including dead trees. It has become difficult for students studying in schools and madrassas. Common people including students have to feel a lot of embarrassment during movement. Young children are afraid of hands without understanding. Accidents can happen at any time.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Abdullah Al Mamun said, these insects are looper larva. It is attacking forest adjacent areas and forest trees. I have sent two teams in the initial stage for pest control but nothing could be done due to rain.

It is also the responsibility of the social forestry department as it is attacking the trees that grow in the forest and rice is not attacking anywhere else. As the insects spread across the area, we must act collectively. These insects do not harm humans. But capable of damaging plants. So these insects need to be controlled quickly.
