
Mitford murder: Another arrested, case to be transferred to Speedy Trial Tribunal

Police have arrested another individual named Md Titon Gazi in connection with the brutal killing of scrap trader Sohag near Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka.
Among them, police arrested Mahmudul Hasan Mohin, 41, Tarek Rahman Robin, 22, while Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Alamgir, 28, and Monir, 32.
"Five people involved in this incident have already been arrested. Police have started the investigation with utmost priority," he wrote in a post from his verified Facebook page this morning (12 July).
He said arrangements will be made for trial in the shortest possible time under Section 10 of the Speedy Trial Tribunal Act, 2002.
The two accused - Mohin, named as the prime suspect, and Robin were placed on different durations of remand following a hearing at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Judge Jewel Rana on 10 July.
