The editors of online news portals including those of newspapers and TV channels have formed an alliance announcing today a 13-member executive committee of the platform.

According to a statement of the newly formed grouping the Naya Diganta’s Online Editor Hasan Sharif and Head of Online of Bhorer Kagoj Mizanur Rahman Sohel were elected as president and general secretary of the 35-member forum.

“The Online Editors Alliance is aimed to mark a significant step towards enhancing coordination, experience sharing, and skill development in digital journalism,” the statement read.

Lutfor Rahman Himel of Banglanews24.com and KM Zeaul Haque of Jagonews24.com were named as vice presidents while MAHM Kabir Ahmad of RTV Digital and Kamrul Islam Rubel of DBC Television were made Joint Secretaries of the alliance.

Palash Mahmud of The Daily Kalbela was elected as organising secretary while Sharafat Hussain of Daily Ittefaq was elected assistant organizing secretary, Moin Bakul of Amader Shomoy as finance secretary, and Masud Bin Abdur Razzak of Deepto TV as office secretary.

Anisur Rahman Bulbul of the Kaler Kantho, Azad Baig of the Daily Star, and Mansura Chamily of Barta24.com are executive members of the forum.

According to the statement heads of several other mainstream media outlets have been inducted in the alliance as general members.
