Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested one drug dealer with 1,200 pieces of yaba worth Tk 600,000 at Bhatiari in Chattogram on Tuesday.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Rafid-As-Sami informed this in a press release.on Wednesday morning.
According to the press release, based on secret information, on Tuesday at 5:00 pm, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Bhatiari in the area adjacent to Tabaku Canal in Bhatiari under Sitakunda police station. During the operation, one drug dealer was arrested while buying and selling yaba in that area.
Later, after searching the arrested person, 1,200 pieces of yaba worth Tk 600,000 were recovered from the pocket of his pants.
The process of taking further legal action regarding the seized yaba and the arrested drug dealer is underway.
To prevent drug smuggling, the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future.
