Workshop on role of Imams, Khatibs in building ideal society held in Satkhira

A workshop titled "The Role of Imams and Khatibs in Building an Ideal Society" was held in Satkhira.
The workshop, organized by the district administration on Thursday morning at the district administrator's conference room.
It was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mostaq Ahmed. At the workshop, he said that Imams and Khatibras are the driving force of society. Through their speeches and guidance, it is possible to build peace, tolerance and moral values in the society. They can play a leading role in preventing juvenile delinquency, drugs and social degradation. In addition, for the convenience of the worshippers, important emphasis should be placed on the Arabic sermon of Jumma along with the Bengali sermon.
Speaking at the event were Deputy Secretary Md. Akbar Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bishnupad Pal, Jamaat's Central Surah member Muhaddis Rabiul Bashar, Mehedi Hasan, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation, and Dr. Mufti Akhtaruzzaman, Acting Principal of Satkhira Alia Kamil Madrasa, among others.
Nearly a hundred imams and khatibs from different upazilas of the district participated in the workshop.
At the time, speakers called for building mosque-based awareness to prevent extremism, misinterpretation of religion, social injustice, and violence.
The workshop was attended by administrative officials, muftis, muhaddis, and representatives of the religious community.
