The selection process for the 2024 National Primary Education Award was recently held, where the best head teacher, best assistant teacher, best Cub Scout, and best school at the divisional level were selected in various categories.

Bilal Mia, an assistant teacher at Bahechar Government Primary School in Kotiadi Upazila of Kishoreganj district, has been selected as the Best Assistant Teacher of 2024 in Dhaka Division. His name was officially announced yesterday, Thursday, as the Best Assistant Teacher in Dhaka Division. Bilal Mia hails from Dashpakhi village in Lohajuri Union of Katiadi Upazila.

He completed his Honors and Master's degrees from Jagannath University. In 2021, he was named ICT District Ambassador for Kishoreganj by the a2i program, and he was also selected as the Best Assistant Teacher of Kishoreganj district in 2024. Additionally, he serves as the Literary Secretary of the Kotiadi Upazila Branch of the Primary Teachers' Association.

It has been reported that the selection process was based on academic performance, teaching tenure, the use of technology, proficiency in multimedia classroom teaching, mastery of teaching-learning strategies, the effective application of training knowledge, competency-based teaching, and the proper implementation of the new curriculum, along with other notable achievements.

Upon being selected as the Best Assistant Teacher, Bilal Mia expressed his thoughts to journalists, stating, "Being selected as the best assistant teacher at the divisional level has increased my responsibility and duty. It will surely enhance my motivation to teach students with even greater dedication."

He also expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone and requested prayers, saying, "I hope to use this success and my skills to further brighten the name of this educational institution."
