Mirza Azam in New York : Sheikh Mujib is Allah's gift for Bengali nation

USA Bureau

Bangladesh Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam MP said, on the 75th birth anniversary of Bangladesh Awami League, we have to take an oath to inform the new generation about the birth of Awami League and the long journey for the liberation of Bengalis.

It will be easy to establish the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on a more solid footing in the multinational society by informing the new generation about the history and heritage of the Awami League. Because, a country like America is recognized as the most powerful in the world today with the generation of immigrants.

Mirza Azam said, if Bangladesh Awami League is to be recognized then Bangabandhu should be recognized first. And Awami League will be known only when you know Bangabandhu. Through this, the great liberation war of 1971 will also be known. Everyone can be informed about the long struggle-struggle-movement of Awami League born on June 23, 1949 only by trying to know about the great liberation war.

Mirza Azam said, that is why we need to know more about Bangabandhu. He was born on March 17, 1920 in Tungipara of Gopalganj to Sheikh Lutfar Rahman's wife Begum Saira Khatun.

Hundreds of years before that, the Muslim mothers and sisters of this subcontinent used to pray to Allah every morning during Fajr prayer, God give us such a child, that we may be freed from the torture of these British slaves. The Maratha bargis used to torture this country and occupied our country. People used to kill. Our wealth was looted. We want freedom from this torture. The Hindu women of Bengal used to go to the Tulsi floor and pray to God to give birth to a child who will free us from this torture.

Hindu-Muslim-Buddhist-Christian people of all communities pray to God, to God, to Allah for hundreds of years. As a result of such prayers, a child named Khoka was born on March 17, 1920 in Tungipara village of Gopalganj, which we consider as God's divine gift. Because a 6-year-old child only goes to school, sometimes without books and sometimes returns home shirtless. When mother asked, the girl told that a classmate of mine could not buy books due to lack of money, so I gave him my book-book. Another friend is unable to afford a shirt.

That's why I gave him my shirt. Mirza Azam said, A child's favorite things are his clothes, his books. For such a child to be so great, so humane - it cannot be a conventional event. It happened because that child was a divine gift and that child was our Bangabandhu, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time.

Mirza Azam mentioned that when the child was a student of the 8th class, at that time Bengal's Chief Minister Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy visited the school. Education Minister Sher-e Bangla AK Fazlul Haque was with him. When the Chief Minister gets into the car after the school visit, Lickley is seen questioning a young Chief Minister, who is leaving after the school visit. But he did not say anything about the water falling through the roof of my school building.

Due to the suddenness of the incident, all the teachers of the school were alarmed that all might be dismissed. Even senior officers including DC, SP of the area were scared. At that time, Hossain Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy took that boy in his arms and gave all the instructions to renovate the school. After matriculation, this child was admitted to Kolkata Islamia College for higher education.

Bekal became known as a student leader while staying in the hostel there. And he was elected GS of the college student council unopposed. He had such divine power that whenever there was a riot, the government officials would call Sheikh Mujib and seek his help in stopping the Hindu-Muslim riots. Responding to that call, Sheikh Mujib used to bring both sides to stop the riots through arguments. He had an extraordinary quality in creating a harmonious living environment.

It was all the capacity of youth. Then, on August 14, 1947, Mirza Azam presented the detailed context of the formation of Awami League with the intention of uniting Bengalis against the misrule of the West after the establishment of a state called Pakistan with a gap of 2 thousand kilometers.

After becoming Bangabandhu of Sheikh Mujib, he shed light on how unarmed Bengali jumped into war against a well-armed military force and emerged an independent country on the world map from the perspective of history.

While staying in New York on a family visit, Mirza Azam gave a speech on the occasion of the organization's 75th anniversary during an exchange of views with the leaders and activists of the United States Awami League on July 8 evening. He called upon all the diaspora to be united and advised to prevent any anti-national activities in the light of reason.

The meeting held at the Queen's Palace was chaired by the President of US Awami League Dr Siddiqur Rahman and it was moderated by General Secretary Abdus Samad Azad. The President and General Secretary of the New York State and Metropolitan Committee also gave a welcome speech on the occasion.

Leaders of Chhatra League, Jubo League, Volunteer League congratulated Mirza Azam at the venue.
