Kapasia market raid to keep prices stable

National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection and Upazila Administration along with a special task force have launched drive at Kapasia market in Gazipur to stabilize the prices of daily necessities.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate AKM Lutfar Rahman conducted the market supervision activities of daily essential products including vegetables, eggs, broiler chicken, potatoes, pulses, onions, garlic, ginger and edible oil in Kapasia market of upazila on Wednesday.
During the operation, 6 companies were fined 21 thousand taka.
Executive Magistrate AKM Lutfar Rahman said, for selling goods at a price higher than the government fixed price, 21 thousand taka in 6 cases in total under Sections 38, 40 and 51 of Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 and Section 30 of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institutions Act, 2018. is fined. Instructions are given to sell products at government fixed prices. The monitoring activities and public interest operations will continue.
