Jamaat holds protest march in Tarail for 5-point demands

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Tarail Upazila Unit has held a protest march and rally for 5-point demands including national elections based on the July Charter on Friday.
The protest march started from in front of the Tarail Upazila Health Complex at 2:10 pm and circled the main roads including the Upazila Sadar Bazar before reaching the rally site.
The party leaders and activists presided over the rally.
Jamaat Tarail Upazila Unit Ameer Md. Habibur Rahman presided over the rally. The chief guest was Colonel (Retd) Dr. Jehad Khan, a cardiologist at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhaka and a member of the Central Majlish-e-Shura of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and a candidate for the post of Member of Parliament from Kishoreganj-3 (Tarail-Karimganj) constituency of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in the upcoming national elections.
In his speech as the chief guest, he said that national elections should be organized in February, and PR system should be introduced in both houses of parliament in the next national election, as well as ensuring a level playing field for all for the purpose of free, fair and acceptable elections.
He also said that all the atrocities, genocide and corruption of the fascist government should be made visible and the activities of the Jatiya Party and the 14 parties, which are allies of dictatorship, should be banned.
People from all walks of life, including the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and its affiliates of Tarail Upazila, were present.
It is learnt that on September 15, the Jamaat-e-Islami party in Bangladesh announced a three-day program with 5-point demands through a press conference at the Al Falah Auditorium adjacent to the Jamaat central office.
