Jamaat-e-Islami wants PR method as it wants elections at low cost without misusing money : Shamim Sayeedi

Shamim Sayedee, Jamaat-e-Islami's nominated candidate for Pirojpur-2 constituency, said that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is seeking PR method because it wants elections at low cost without misusing money. It wants a level playing field so that everyone can exercise their right to vote with equal rights.
He made these remarks at a human chain event organized by the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Pirojpur district branch on Town Club Road in the city on Wednesday afternoon, demanding the implementation of the five-point agenda in the next national parliamentary elections.
Shamim Sayedee said, "54 years ago, the people of Bangladesh, the soil and people of Bangladesh, who liberated this country with the aim of building a Golden Bangla, have not been able to enjoy that freedom to this day. In the last 54 years, the ruling society, who are in power in the country, have repeatedly exploited, tortured, and oppressed us, and in the end, millions of people gave their lives for the Golden Bangla by dreaming of a Golden Bangla. That is why the fascist autocratic government was forced to flee in the face of the student-public movement in 2024."
The program, chaired by Maulana Abdur Rab, District Nayeb Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Pirojpur District Branch, and moderated by District Secretary Zahirul Haque, was also attended by District Assistant Secretary Maulana Siddiqul Islam, Sheikh Abdur Razzak, District Professional Branch President Dr. Abdullahil Mahmud, among others.
