International Disaster Reduction Day was celebrated in Rangpur on Monday, October 13 with the theme “Coordinated Initiatives - Prevent Disasters”.
On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally was held in the morning under the overall management of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, organized by the Rangpur District Administration.
After the rally, a fire drill was held on the main roads of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal presided over it.
At that time, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Ramiz Alam, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Golam Kibria, Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense Badsha Masud Alam, Sadar Upazila PIO Monimul Haque, various NGO, civil society leaders and Scout, Red Crescent workers were present among others.
