On Thursday (January 23) under the initiative of Prothom Alo Trust and with the support of Bandhu Sabha, blankets were distributed among 200 people including students of two orphanages and Madrasahs in Rajbari Sadar, Barat Antarmor of Upazila and Purba Ujanchar of Goalando Upazila.

Tarabanu Begum (70) of Charbarat area of Chhotabhakla union of Goalando came to Antarmor embankment of Rajbari Sadar upazila this morning to take blankets. About 25 years ago, husband Jamal Mondal passed away. Although there are two sons in the family, they do not take care of them properly. He is somehow passing the day with the help of others. After receiving the blanket in his hand, he became emotional.

Tarabanu Begum said, “Baba Debagram's Banabhail was a large house, land. All the ends are taken to the river erosion. Sehan Thaikka Chila Asi Panir. If you break here, I go to Debagram village again. At last Sehan could not stay. Later I came to Barat Bazar road. No one has searched so much, it did not give it a blanket. You are the first to give me a blanket. I got a blanket as the mercy of Allah.

The elder Hasmat Ali (1) came from Barat Bazar area of Barat union of Sadar upazila. He said that today, a few days are falling in Bajan. It is a lot of trouble during Rait. No one gave us a blanket this year. You gave the first blanket. I got a lot of benefits from this blanketOn Thursday (January 26th), around 8am, Goaland-Rajbari-Habaspur Baribandh adjacent to the barracks of Rajbari Sadar upazila and Pachuria of Rajbari Sadar upazila and 120 people of Goalando upazila and Debagram UP people were distributed. Before this, the members of Rajbari and Goalando Bandhu Sabha visited for four days and distributed tokens of blankets among the victims of river erosion in these areas and the real helpless poor people of the area.

Around 12 noon, 80 more blankets were distributed among the needy people of Daulatdia area, including Hamidiya Madinatul Uloom Madrasa and Orphanage and the students of Razzakia Hafizia Noorani Madrasa of the same area in Purwa Ujanchar Haji Gafur Mandal neighborhood of Goland Upazila.

During the distribution of winter clothes, Prothom Alo Rajbari Correspondent and Adviser M Rashedul Haque, Goalando Bandhu Sabha President Jiban Chakraborty, Vice President Moinul Haque Mridha, General Secretary Zarin Subha Ananya, Bandhu Sabha members Sajjad Hossain, Rezaul Munshi, Rajbari Bandhu Sabha friends Abdur Rahman, Shahin Reza, Rana Islam,Hamidiya Madinatul Uloom Madrasa and orphan Khanar Mohtamim.Zahirul Islam, assistant teacher of Sahajuddin Mondal Institute.
