The RAB arrested former Union Parishad (UP) chairman, expelled BNP leader Idris Miah (42), from Capital 's Karwan Bazar area, prime accused in a case filed against Hindu houses looting in Brahmankachuri village of Kishoreganj Sadar on Tuesday noon.

RAB-14, Kishoreganj Assistant Director (AD) ASP Abdul Hye Chowdhury confirmed this matter. He said that with the cooperation of RAB-2, he was arrested in a raid in Karwan Bazar area of Dhaka. He is being handed over to Kishoreganj Model Police Station for further legal action.

Later in the evening, 30-40 people came in a pickup led by Idris, opened the main gate of the house and took everything including gold ornaments, cash, bed, sofa, almirah, air conditioner, fridge, television, water submersible motor in the car. The victim Geeta Rani's family fled home fearing for their lives. They are still homeless.

In the case filed on September 23, 10 people including Idris have been named and 40 to 50 others have been named as defendants in this incident.

Apart from filing a case on behalf of the family, a written application has also been made to BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman for redressa.
