Free medical camp, diabetes checkup and medicine distribution ceremony held at Osmaninagar Upazila at the house of Syed Abdul Malik of Usmanpur village of Usmaninagar upazila in Sylhet on Thursday for the repose of the soul of late Kazi Nurjahan Begum.

Professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and Vice Chancellor of Sylhet Metropolitan University Zahirul Islam Shakil attend the programme as a chief guest.

He said this ceremony , there is darkness under the light. Sylhet is an area inhabited by expatriates, but it is lagging behind in terms of overall development including education, healthcare and communication. The reason why the country is moving at a fast pace is because of foreign remittances and exports.

If expatriates leave for any reason, our foreign reserves will decrease. If the foreign exchange decreases, we will not be able to import anything. The price of goods will increase. That is why expatriates are the best children of our country. Expatriates have contributed to the development of the country. They should be given due respect and dignity.

He also said that expatriates have more feelings towards their country. That's why they rushed to the country again and again. They feel that they have responsibility and duty towards the people of the country. From that sense of responsibility Mumin Bhai has organized free medical camp. He also stood by the people of the area during the Corona period and during various natural disasters.

Syed Abdul Mumin, the former VP of Jagmu General Secretary College of United Kingdom Jubo League Presided over and social activist Syed Shipon Conducted the ceremony.
