Twenty people, including women, were injured in a series of attacks between the Mullah Mostafizur Rahman member and Sheikh Ruhul Amin member groups on Wednesday.

From noon to evening, focusing on the formation of a BNP committee in Kuliadair village of Bishnupur union in Bagerhat Sadar. 6 of the injured have been admitted to Bagerhat and Khulna Medical College Hospitals.

As a result of this incident, the houses of Sheikh Ruhul Amin and his 8 brothers were set on fire and looted in the evening. After the incident, police and army members rushed to the spot. Additional police and army members have been deployed in fear of another clash between the two conflicting groups of BNP.

Bagerhat Sadar Upazila BNP member Sheikh Ruhul Amin said that on Wednesday afternoon, after talking to District BNP President Akram Hossain Talim about the formation of Bishnupur Union BNP Committee, they were attacked by the workers of the opponent Molla Mostafizur Rahman group when they reached the VIP intersection of Kuliadair village on their way home.

Some of his group were injured during this time. On the other hand, BNP President Molla Mostafizur Rahman group leader Masum Molla said that on their way to file a complaint with the police station regarding the attack on their group, people of Sheikh Ruhul Amin's group attacked them again in the afternoon. 5 people from our group were injured in this. As a result of this incident, a clash broke out between both groups in Kuliadair village in the evening.

During this time, the houses of Sheikh Ruhul Amin and his 8 brothers were set on fire and looted. 15 more people, including women, were injured.

Bagerhat Sadar Police Station OC Md. Saidur Rahman said that after receiving the news of the clash between the two groups of BNP, police and army members rushed to the spot. Additional police and army members have been deployed in the area in fear of another clash between the two groups of BNP. The situation is currently normal.
