Farooq Ahmed elected as the Chairperson of RDRS, Rangpur

Mr. Farooq Ahmed has been elected as the new Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of RDRS Bangladesh, one of the private development organizations in Bangladesh. The election was held at the 66th meeting of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Farooq Ahmed is expected to take over as Chairperson for the next three years from 27 April 2024.
Mr. Farooq Ahmed holds a Master's Degree in Economics from Dhaka University and a Master's Degree in Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins University, USA, and has extensive experience in the development sector. He was at one time Executive Director of BRAC International, and held various important positions at the World Bank office in Dhaka.
He was a board member of the Geneva-based GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance (AAV), and also served on various committees of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank.
Currently Mr. Farooq Ahmed is a member of the Board of Directors of Social Marketing Company (SMC) Enterprise.
He is also a member of Bangladesh Health Watch Working Group. Mr. Farooq Ahmed has been serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of RDRS since March 16, 2020. RDRS believes that under the leadership of Mr. Farooq Ahmed, the organization will be able to continue its commitment to stand by the underprivileged people across the country and accelerate related activities.
